Beautiful Bad Wimpfen

The Christmas market in Bad Wimpfen definitely is such a romantic place.

The beautiful timbered houses all lit up create such a charming scene.

Bunches of mistletoe, the aroma of Christmas spices, meeting Santa, sipping on glühwein, bunny taking umpteen rides on different carousels, live orchestra etc. etc.

Instead of me rambling on and on hopefully these pictures extend some of the Christmas cheer to you.

Coconut cookies

These coconut cookies that I made reminded me of the coconut burfees that my Mom used to make when I was small. But the recipes are so different. I had a very simple recipe. Beat egg whites until they are nice and stiff.

Then add the coconut flakes and some sugar to it and beat it again. Finally add the magic mixture quark which will make your coconut cookies nice and soft.

Bake them until they are nice and golden brown.

Eat them when they last ;-)

The making of a Lebkuchen house

Was such a fun Sunday. Met with friends for brunch. They definitely had a lovely spread.



I really liked the part where the kids and their parents could build their own gingerbread or lebkuchen house. It was white sticky sweet gooey stuff that was required to hold all parts of our house together.

Our chef Nik was a nice friendly guy who showed us every single step towards building a perfect house.

At one point I was getting desperate to wash my hands clean.



Little bunny and her friends little L and little B had a blast decorating their houses with gummy bears and candy.



Once nice and dried I plan to have our little gingerbread sit under the Chirstmas tree.

Little bunny had fun helping her Papa set up our Christmas tree at home.

She was quite busy helping get out the net that covered the branches of the lovely fir tree. The tree is now standing nice and tall and I think the next step will be to start decorating it. I am sure it's going to look lovely!

A walk in the cemetry

There is something so peaceful and serene about taking a walk in a cemetry.

It was so quiet and tranquil that every time little bunny made a sound both of us went 'Shhh..shhh..' and she would immediately ask 'Why Mama?' Sometimes I even thought that the camera clicking away was also too loud.
