Vdolke time

My friend S is definitely one of the best cooks I know. This time it was some yummy Vdolke, again one of her yummy Chezch specialities.
Forget about portion sizes and counting calories, that kinda thing just does not work on an evening tea meeting eating warm crunchy rich Vdolkes.
If you do a google translation of Vdolke from Czech to English it would just say muffins but then that according to me is such a poor comparison. S made them out of a fresh sour dough batter, with a layer of Czech cottage cheese followed by a layer of home made pear preserves and topped with a dollop of freshly beaten cream.
The flavours are divinely delightful to say the least.

Zipping around town

Have been enjoying driving my new car around town. The girls love it immensely as well. Little bunny's standard line these days seems to be 'Mama can we go on a drive?'. Little rabbit decides to either sing or go into a deep slumber once she is in the car. But the best part I like is that parking never seems to be a problem with this car. I don't think I really will make use of the park distance control option anymore. Even hubby dear who is completed devoted to his Beemer smiles noddingly when he sees the entire family sitting smugly inside.
On March 11 when I was handed over the keys to this car I did not realise that running errands and chauffeuring the girls would be so much fun.

Exam Overdose

It felt like I was right back in University the last 4 weeks. Yeah first it was the theory exam for my driving license on Feb 17, followed by a 45 minute nerve wracking driving exam on March 3'rd. On March 12'th I had my German Einbürgerungstest or a citizenship test and on the following day a one day long German language exam called Zertifikat Deutsch on March 13'th. Phew... that really felt like running a mental marathon through some very diverse routes. I don't even want to start blogging about some of the dreams I have been having in the last weeks.
Thanks to a superb support system led by hubby dearest and little bunny wishing me luck everytime with that tightest energy giving hug and that longing look on little rabbit's face wondering when her Mama would be finally only hers again, I think we did it. Of course I need to wait for some weeks until I know the result of my German language exam but I am confident that it would be with a status 'Bestanden'
Last night it was fun to celebrate the end of the Exam Overdose season. Hubby dear rented a DVD which he knew I would love and which I did. Yeah watching Julie and Julia got me fantasizing about all the possible lovely dishes I would like to try out. Yeah its time to get back to doing all the things that I really love to do and that is definitely not giving more exams!

Happy Women's Day!

Feeling great after having talked at length to the woman who made me the woman I am today. Yes my Mother, from whom I grew up actually learning the meaning of being selfless. I sometimes sit down and wonder how she did it all like the way she did it. She always knew what was very important for the family deep strong values, a strict focus on education and good healthy food.

A formula that will work for me as well raising two little girls of my own. Forgot to mention to her that today is Women's Day but even if I did I am sure she would have laughed and reminded me that everyday is our day.

Back on the priority lane

A special day indeed. Feeling really good after completing two very tight parking maneuvers both in reverse between two parked cars under high mental strain. The rest was a breeze from my perspective. When I think back I am wondering how at that precise moment the adrenaline just kicks in and helps you stay completely in focus. Does not matter what you learnt but your brain just puts itself in the highest gear and then you follow the motions. Yes today is special indeed and it definitely feels nice to see the German drivers license sitting smug in my wallet. C being a very good teacher made sure it was a fun experience all the way.
